26th Annual Orchid Fair

The Kibble Palace is considered by Monty Don to be ‘the best glasshouse experience anywhere in the world‘ – Monty Don’s British Gardens (January 2025)

The 2025 Glasgow Botanic Gardens Orchid Fair will be held within the Grade A listed Kibble Palace on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May 2025. This popular event, now in its 26th year, remains the only dedicated Orchid Fair in Scotland and provides an ideal opportunity for you to come and not only admire displays of these exotic plants, but also to purchase a wide range of orchids from specialist UK nurseries.
The Scottish Orchid Society has had a long association with the Gardens and assists with the running of this annual event. Entrance to the Orchid Fair is free and members of the Society will be on hand to offer advice on how to care for your orchids and answer any queries you might have.
There will be displays by the Scottish, North of England and Hinckley & District orchid societies together with an educational display created by Dr. Helen Millner.
A wide variety of orchids and other tropical plants will be available from Burnham Nurseries, Spicesotic Plants, Orchid Botanics and Scotland Carnivorous Plants. The Glasgow Beekeepers will also be in attendance on the Saturday.
On Saturday at 1:30pm Christine Nicholson, the orchid propagator, will lead an exclusive Behind-the- Scenes Tour. Learn about orchid pollination and see the propagation laboratory, visit three separate temperature controlled glasshouses, not normally open to the public. where the Gardens care for the orchids in their collection. Places on this tour are strictly limited, maximum 12, and need to be reserved on the day. Head to the Scottish Orchid display to reserve your place.
