DESCRIPTION:April Meeting: Highlights from the World Orchid Conference in Dresden.\nSeveral members of the Scottish Orchid Society recently travelled to Dresden for the World Orchid Conference\, and they’re bringing back a feast of colour\, inspiration\, and stories. This month’s meeting in Glasgow will feature a special presentation of photographs from the event — a chance to enjoy remarkable orchids\, international displays\, and a glimpse into the world’s biggest celebration of our favourite plants. \nJoin us for an afternoon of shared experiences\, stunning blooms\, and friendly discussion. We will also have an update on progress with the Orchid Conservation Register. \n\nGeneral Information\nOur meetings in Glasgow can consist of an illustrated talk or practical sessions where you can learn aspects of orchid cultivation under the guidance of our resident experts who will also be happy to answer your queries on orchid cultivation and/or pest and disease control. We usually have a table show of members’ plants with plenty of opportunities to socialise and exchange ideas. Refreshments are available. Why not come along and see what we have to offer. DESCRIPTION:Topic for this month: Judging of the 2024/25 Seedling Competition\n \n\nSpring is the perfect time to check if your orchids need repotting. This will be a hands-on session\, so bring along any orchids you’d like advice on. Be sure to bring any new pot you plan to use (remember\, bigger isn’t always better)\, though orchid bark will be provided. There will be a small fee for repotting.\n\n\nIf you have an ailing orchid\, our resident “experts” will also be happy to offer guidance.\n\n\nWe’ll have our usual display table for you to showcase your flowering orchids for everyone to enjoy.
