Glasgow Monthly Meeting

November 10 @ 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Topic for this month: Inspiration, Propagation and Conservation

Our regular meetings continue in Glasgow with a presentation on a number of linked topics, with a theme of ‘Inspiration, Propagation, Conservation‘. In a changing world, with habitats and species under threat, what can we do to help conserve orchids?
The presentation will cover a visit to a top German orchid grower, wild orchids growing in situ, a botanical garden, insights from a novice orchid propagator, and thoughts on the future role of orchid enthusiasts and societies in grassroots conservation, with members encouraged to share their thoughts, questions and ideas on this subject.

Please note change of start time. Because we have to vacate the Gardens earlier than usual, this meeting will start at 12:30pm

Join us for our monthly meeting in Glasgow. Our meetings can consist of an illustrated talk or practical sessions where you can learn aspects of orchid cultivation under the guidance of our resident experts who will also be happy to answer your queries on orchid cultivation and/or pest and disease control. We usually have a table show of members’ plants with plenty of opportunities to socialise and exchange ideas. Refreshments are available. Why not come along and see what we have to offer. Your first meeting is free.

To join the Society visit our MEMBERSHIP page.

Please note that there is no parking within the Botanic Gardens. A guide to parking in the surrounding area can be downloaded here. For further information contact the organiser or send us a message via our CONTACT US page.
